I'm Tara, I am 28 weeks pregnant and live in London (for now!). This is our first child, so we are still doing a lot of research and looking into different things.  We are keen to have as natural a pregnancy and birth as possible, and raise little Peanut that way too!

Speaking of research, does anyone have any good tips for cloth nappies.  There seems to be a lot out there, which makes it harder to know which are actually any good!

Looking forward to exploring the site!

Hi Tara,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on little Peanut! I am 30 weeks pregnant with number 2 and little Beanie has become incredibly wriggly of late.

I would be interested to hear what others have to say about cloth nappies.  I bought second hand ones for my first (they were from Germany and can't remember the brand name) but they worked.  I ended up using just regular terry squares a lot too. It's quite fun to learn the different folds.

I did give in after about 6 months and lots of washing & a huge electric bill later and used Nature Babycare disposables from Boots. They are 70% biodegradable and cost much less than the very lovely Moltex ones.  Nature babycare are made from corn, are breathable and naturally chlorine free.  I now mostly use Sainsbury's eco nappies as we shop online. They are 60% biodegradable and are much softer than the Nature baby ones.

I think I'll try terries again with number 2 though, as I do feel guilty about landfill sites, etc

Best of luck with your pregnancy and birth, sounds like you're doing all the right things.

sharon x
